Pantone Fall 2016 - Bodacious
Pantone came out with its Fall 2016 color line up over a month ago, while many of us were still thinking about summer vacations and flip flops. While the next three days here in the midwest are going to be sweltering my thoughts are turning towards my favorite season. From cool nights with extra blankets, to campfires and walks through tunnels formed of majestically colored trees, the only thing I don't like about fall is the shortening days. I even like football! Well, at least pro ball, I haven't worked my way up to college ball yet.
I know I am a little behind other bloggers who have already had numerous posts on fall fashion, but life being what it is, I'm getting around to it. Ha, ha.
I decided to lay out the ten color picks in the Pantone Fall 2016 color report in different order than what they are listed. You can click on the link to see the full report. My reason for doing this has more to do with outfits that I deem more transitional that take me from summer into fall. All the colors speak to boldness and strength.
So my first outfit is styled around the color Bodacious. Bodacious according to Webster means very good, impressive or sexually attractive. So ladies, if you want to be sexy for that love of yours trying wearing this color.
For those of you who have been following me for a while, you may remember I styled this dress as a tunic over jeans in a previous post, which you can see here. This time I wore a short sleeved embellished sweater that I got a while back from Christopher and Banks. The Bodacious sweater matches the Bodacious floral print on the dress perfectly.
The reason I feel this is a transitional outfit is due to the fabric of the dress and the sweater. The dress is a light weight knit almost like t-shirt material and the sweater is a lighter weight as well. Granted I could see styling this with heavy knit tights and booties, with a royal blue blazer over the top to add layers and warmth, so I guess it would work for cooler weather too.
With the embellishment on the sweater I didn't feel any need to add a necklace. Instead, I threw on a few gold bracelets to go with the gold on my bag. To see this bag styled with another outfit from the Pantone Spring color series I did earlier this year click here. I used the ribbon tie from the dress as a hair band and finished off the look with my bright blue heels.
What do you ladies think? Would you wear this sexy color or do you think it is too bright? I'd love to hear your thoughts so be sure to leave me a comment below or on Facebook. I appreciate your input.
Be sure to check back on Thursday for the Awesome Accessories column where I will be talking about a great shoe to have for transitioning from summer to fall.
