The Closet
The crying closet is a place for Ugly-Beautiful.*
I go into its darkness when I can no longer face the lostness.
I am done in; broken; spent; unable to bear one more straw.
It is in the crying closet He meets me.
He sits beside me in the chaos of hanging clothes, shoe boxes and puffy sleeping bags.
He holds my hand and lets me cry.
"I can't do this! I can't take it any more! The Ugly-Beautiful* is too ugly; too big; too overpowering! Where is the beautiful?"
When my sobs have turned to shivering gasps, He speaks.
He reminds me - He is the Ugly-Beautiful* - the God made man; the man made sin.
He knows there is no Ugly-Beautiful* that is too ugly, too big, or too overpowering.
He pulls my head against His shoulder and breaths...
....rest into my spentness;
....wholeness into my brokenness;
....beautiful into my ugly.
